Requesting a repeat prescription

If you are on regular treatment, a request for prescriptions can be made by:

  1. bringing your repeat prescription counterfoil to the surgery
  2. sending it by post
  3. or ordering online (see below).

You will need to allow 48 hours for the prescription to be processed until it is ready for collection (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays).

PLEASE TRY NOT TO REQUEST MEDICATIONS ON THE DAY IT RUNS OUT. Our team would find it really helpful if you would make arrangements to consider for processing times of your requests as we cannot guarantee same day. Unless otherwise stated, you can request your repeat medications 7 days prior to them running out.

If sending the request by post, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope for its return. You will need to allow 7 days for its arrival and return.


Collecting a Repeat Prescription

If you collect from the Castle Pharmacy please allow an extra 24 hours. Please note, Castle Pharmacy is a completely different business to Castle Surgery. You are welcome to take your prescriptions to any pharmacy.

If you have a nominated pharmacy, your prescriptions upon being signed will be collected once a day by your nominated pharmacy. Please allow 5 working days.

Pharmacy Deliveries

Please note that prescription delivery is at the discretion of the pharmacist and that delivery times cannot be guaranteed. This is a private arrangement between yourself and the pharmacist.

Whilst we will assist wherever possible, Castle Surgery will not be held responsible for any issues relating to the delivery of prescriptions.

Online Prescriptions

You can order your repeat medication online using My Health Online.

To use this service, you will first need to create an account. You can do this by completing one of the forms below. These forms are also available on request at the practice reception.

Please note that these accounts will provide access to sensitive and confidential information, and as such we will need to see photo ID before we can set up an account ready for use. At present the system is available only to those of our patients who are 16 years old and over.
