VISITING UPDATE: Swansea Bay Health Board have updated their hospital visiting policies


. It’s now ‘visiting for a purpose’ on our sites, to reflect the current high rates of Covid-19 infection in the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot communities.

What is ‘visiting for a purpose’? In practice this means keeping visits to a minimum and only in particular circumstances. Visits must be pre-arranged.

These restrictions are in place is to reduce footfall on these sites, reducing the risk of Covid-19 infections being inadvertently brought in to these wards.

Visiting doesn’t just refer to seeing a patient on a ward, it also covers accompanying someone to a hospital appointment.

Visiting arrangement are being kept under review and as soon as it it is safe to do so, Swansea at NHS will ease restrictions further.
